This fall, a new branch of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library is expected to open at the Eastwood Mall, according to executive director Jim Wilkins. “The Eastwood Mall Complex is a thriving community destination with shopping, restaurants and entertainment options,” he said. “This is a wonderful opportunity to provide library services and support to the people who regularly shop, visit, and work there.”
The Eastwood Mall Library in Niles is projected to open in early September for patrons seeking library materials and services. The library will take up 2,500-square-feet in the JCPenney concourse, a few steps from the children’s indoor play area and across from Mercy Health St. Joe’s at the Mall. Inside, patrons will have access to computers, printers and free Wi-Fi, as well as scheduled programs for people of all ages at a central location.
Joe Bell is the director of corporate communications for the Cafaro Company which owns the mall in Trumbull County. “We wholeheartedly believe that a vibrant local library is vital to any community,” he said. “That’s why we are thrilled to provide a home for a branch of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library inside Eastwood Mall. It joins the growing, diverse lineup of amenities for the many people who visit us every day.”
There will be a ribbon cutting in early September for the Eastwood Mall Library, which joins existing branches in Brookfield, Cortland, Howland, Liberty and Warren. “This new location will help us expand library access for even more members of our community in a dynamic and accessible setting,” Wilkins said. “We are excited to bring the library into this popular community hub.”
