Eastwood Mall to Host Free Fan Meet-and-Greet with YSU Quarterback

Eastwood Mall invites the community to a free meet-and-greet event featuring Youngstown State University quarterback Beau Brungard. The event will take place on Friday, January 30, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the mall’s Center Court.
The afternoon serves as an opportunity for fans to connect with the New Middletown native following a record-setting 2025 season. Brungard, a graduate of Springfield Local who chose to remain in the Mahoning Valley to play for the Penguins, recently confirmed his return to YSU for his senior campaign in 2026.
Brungard’s performance this past year garnered significant national attention and helped lead the Penguins to an FCS playoff appearance. As a result of his 2025 campaign, Brungard became the first Penguins player in school history to win the prestigious Walter Payton Award, recognizing him as the top offensive player in the FCS. His list of honors from this past season also includes the Walter Camp FCS Offensive Player of the Year Award, the NACDA Offensive Player of the Year Award, the Phil Steele FCS Offensive Player of the Year Award, and he was voted a unanimous First-Team All-American.
The meet-and-greet is free and open to the public. Fans are encouraged to bring their favorite Penguins gear, footballs or other personal memorabilia for Beau to sign. To celebrate the occasion, Eastwood Mall will host a variety of activities for all ages:
· Music & Atmosphere: A live DJ will provide entertainment in Center Court.
· Giveaways: Eastwood Mall businesses will hold raffles and offer prize giveaways throughout the two-hour event.
· Special Guest: Pete the Penguin will make a special appearance from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM to take photos with fans before returning to campus for that evening’s YSU basketball game.
